San Quintin, Mexico:
Yellowtail Spotted During Local Surfing Trips

Dec. 28, 2005, Kelly Catian, K&M Offshore Sportfishing,, San Quintin sportfishing, Baja California, Mexico:

Probably the best gift we got this Christmas at San Quintin was the swell, back to back bombs and it's still on. I'm not going to say where it is, but it's a long paddle out. One of the bigger days Oscar and "Bird" went out to the sandbar with Ray Williams and got lots of overhead barrels and broken boards.

As for the San Quintin fishing, I haven't been out except to surf, but we saw yellowtails on the way to a place we surfed. They were up breezing on top. I saw a local gill netter yesterday at the beach and he had gotten white seabass in his nets over the last few days, but the swell was so big he couldn't beach-launch. So it seems there might be some white seabass down south of San Quintin still.

Rockfish continues to be good at San Quintin but even better if you put the time in and find a new spot instead of always fishing the same reefs.
