CALICO BASS AND SANDBASS AT PLAYA SAN RAMON
July 29, 2005, Pete Hillis, Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin, Baja sportfishing, Mexico:
Fishing conditions at San Quintin are the same old, same old. Yellowtail and halibut were caught by San Quintin fishing boats at Isla San Martin and all the calico bass and sandbass you want are available at San Ramon. There are still no albacore or yellowfin tuna.
Temperatures and currents are right off San Quintin, but the tuna just haven't showed in our fishing area yet. Basically, this is the same report as last week with Pedro's getting 23 sportfishing boats out this week. Seas are calm at San Quintin, the weather is hot, 80 to 90 degrees, and we're hoping for the tuna as soon as possible.
