PEDRO'S PANGAS SENDS 24 CHARTER
FISHING BOATS OUT FOR THE WEEK
July 24, 2005, Pete Hillis, Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico:
The San Quintin Fishing Tournament was a huge success. The weather held up for us with temperatures in the high 80s. San Quintin was foggy in the morning but clearing by 9 or 10 a.m.
There are 2 warm currents out there in the San Quintin fishing area, with water temperatures right at about 61 degrees. One current is 12 miles off the point, and the other is 20 miles off the point. But we still have had no luck on the albacore or tuna.
Overall, we had 22 boats fishing this week. There is still a good yellowtail bite at San Martin Island trolling Rapalas. We also had the usual limits of sandbass, calico bass and rock cod.
