Burrito Grunt, Anisotremus interruptus: Caught from shore, early morning, in 73-degree water, April 2003, in the "suds" in and around the "trough," utilizing 15-pound test with a two dropper loop rig, no swivels, 1.5-ounce bank sinker, and Mustad 92553 hooks, size #4, on cut squid, at Km. 20 (Cabo Real) between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico. Size approximately 8 inches and 1 pound and was “scrappy.” Viewed by locals as good table fare and if you can locate them in a feeding state you can catch a bucket full. This fish is a confusing fish to identify, as its color varies from almost pure silver to a gold and black. Can also be caught far out at sea with similar bottom rigs in sizes that approach 15 inches and 4 pounds. Description courtesy John Snow; photo courtesy Carol Snow.
