YELLOWTAIL AND GROUPER FISHING AT
BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES WITH CAPT. IGOR GALVAN

Jan. 4, 2006, Harry Beckous, Bahia de los Angeles, Baja California, Mexico Sportfishing:

I fished with Igor Galvan on Dec 27-28, 2005, at Bahia de los Angeles (L.A. Bay).

On the 27th we caught 15 Yellowtail ranging from 15 to 37 pounds in about 200 feet of water.

On the 28th we fished for big grouper and black sea bass. We caught 1 grouper about 70 pounds and had another one saw off on the rocks. As a bonus that day we picked up a few yellows on the surface on the way in, chasing birds. Another beautiful trip to the bay.

Pat Kibler was my fishing partner. The yellowtail were at the south end of La Guardia Island. The Grouper were 30 Miles north. Bait was slow, 2 hours, some Mackerel, mostly sardinas. Water temperature was 62 degrees and calm. The current change was about 1 p.m., extreme low tide. We stayed at lucky room number 5 at Guillermo's, excellent dinners and lunches provided from Raquel & Larry's. Bahia will be on the national power grid by the end of April and a new 2 lane road, government built, is under construction all the way to La Gringa.
