ANNUAL GROUP TRIP TO FISH WITH SAMMY'S SPORTFISHING

Aug. 10, 2006, Frank Navarro, Casa Diaz, Bahia de los Angeles, Baja California, Mexico:

Our friend Ramerio caught his 41 pound Yellowtail and our friend Jim Neumann caught a very nice sheepshead, both at Isla Smith on our annual trip to Bahia de los Angeles, on July 6-9, 2000. We fished 2 of the 4 days where we caught nice yellowtail ranging from 8 to 40 pounds at Isla Smith. We also caught grouper from 8 to 12 pounds and limits of cabrilla for tacos in the 3 to 6 pound range.

We fished out of Sammy's sport fishing. Thank you Sammy for another great trip.

We stayed at Costa del Sol hotel which was excellent as usual. You catch the fish and Victoria will cook it up with rice beans and tortillas, all you can eat, for only 5 bucks, and oh yes, the margaritas are fantastic!

Inside Bahia de los Angeles this year we a lot of rays jumping all over the bay, crazy, I mean jumping like 4 feet out of the water. I've been coming here since 1993 and it's different every year, but good different.

Water temperatures at Bahia de los Angeles were 74-76 degrees, a little cold for this time of year, but still good fishing. We used mostly live bait that we jigged for inside the bay early morning, no wind and very hot, over 110 degrees on our last day of fishing. Caliente hot.

Bahia de los Angeles road conditions were good, with no pot holes and plenty of gas at the Pemex in Bahia.

Our group consisted of Frank Navarro, John Neumann, Tim Dowdy, Steve Mark, Jim Neumann, Ramerio, Dave Niess, Chris McLaughlin and David (Coonbear) Garnica.
