GUIDED FLY-IN FISHING TRIP TO BAHIA
DE LAS ANIMAS BY BAJA AIRVENTURES

Jan. 8, 2006, Tim Farwell, Baja Airventures, Bahia de Las Animas, Baja California, Mexico:

Our fly-in fishing and camping trip found typical winter conditions in the Bahia de las Animas area. WINDY! We had four days of wind and fished three of them. Once the wind calmed down, we were all over it. Dana Sanford from Idaho caught his grouper that he was asking for. I think it was his second drop to approximately 350 feet when this fish hit a Salas 7X and bent his rod. This fish made his trip and it made our dinner! Fish head soup started it off and the grouper steamed in tinfoil finished off the dinner. The fish was caught dead center in Las Animas bay. Fishing from our fleet of three Pangas.

As for the other fishing, the water at Las Animas is getting colder by the week. We caught standard Cabrilla, Bass, Rockfish, and two Octopi.

The fishing was out of Las Animas Camp of Baja Airventures.
