SEA LIONS ARE GETTING ABOUT 80 PERCENT OF THE
FISH CAUGHT BY ANGLERS AT BAHIA DE LOS ANGELES

Aug. 26, 2005, Abraham Vazquez, Camp Gecko, Bahia de Los Angeles village report, Baja California, Mexico:

Fishing is fair at Bahia de los Angeles. The dorado disappeared for 5 days and they have just started coming in again. The full moon stirred up the fishing water around Bahia de Los Angeles big time and cooled it down, so the blue water was out of our range.

The yellowtail were hitting, but the sea lions are bad this year at Bahia de Los Angeles and will take them from you 4 out of 5 times.

Bait is easy to get. They are in the middle of the bay now, not in the traditional places like the light house.

There is lots of Bonita and also sierra in the Bahia de Los Angeles fishing area. The weather is okay in the mid 90's during the day and mid 80's at night, but a humid 75 percent. The fishing water temperature is in the low 80's.
