LOS CABOS PANGA OUTINGS WITH CAPT. ANTONIO GULUARTE

Nov. 11-14, 2005, Jim Eakin, La Playita, San Jose del Cabo, Baja sport fishing, Mexico:

Three days of fishing in La Playita, San Jose del Cabo, Nov. 11-14, with Antonio Guluarte Fleet proved to be productive.

The first fishing day saw a steady bite of Yellowfin tuna ranging from 12 pounds to 30 pounds, with the larger fish biting on a dead sardine.

Between Dave Cricks, my brother-in-law, and myself, 30 fish were boated.

Second day of fishing at San Jose del Cabo was planned for Marlin in the outer Gordo Bank. All agreed to catch and release. Dave was up first and after a sure handed hook-set a 200 pound Blue Marlin was released successfully 45 minutes later.

After dropping a fresh Bonita back no more than 5 minutes passed when I found myself setting the hook on another big Blue. Unfortunately, after an hour the fish was boated due to a torn stomach. Needlessly to say the white meat didn't go to waste.

For the third San Jose del Cabo fishing day we were on the hunt for Wahoo. Trolling never produced any Wahoo but did lead to another Striped Marlin that we did release and after stopping on a bait ball we found our self in a frenzy of large Bonita and Yellowfin. Seas were flat off San Jose del Cabo.
