Trip report from angler Tim Blakely:
"La Ultima Viaje," another adventure on the Jose Andrés. Charter Master Bobby Henderson booked a fantastic trip fishing the Islas Encantadas south of San Felipe.
"The usual boat load of Sierra and Yellowtail kept everyone busy. On board were "Los Pescadores Chingones" from Reno, Nevada.
"Also along were contractors from A.S.R. Construction and Ahumado Construction.
"This spirited group celebrated their success daily adding to the entertainment. One reef yielded two Black Sea Bass over 100 pounds and several nice White Sea Bass in the 20 pound range.
"Tom Nieblas from Corona, Calif., caught a 90 pound Grouper fly lining Sierra fillets. Bobby's son, Eathan, 8 years old, and Bodie Blakely, 10, learned more in a week than in the school they missed!
"However, it was the stories about the runaway freight trains on these mysterious reefs that will keep us all coming back!
"As always, the crew of the Jose Andres was professional and pleasant and the food was great. Jeff Blakey and Jim Henderson were missed!! Get well soon Jim."
