GOLDSPOTTED BASS CAUGHT ON SPORTFISHING RUN TO 51-MILE BANK

July 16, 2004, Mike Auditore, Rocky Point, Mexico Fishing on El Gato Blanco:

Report for Rocky Point for 7/10/04. El Gato Blanco fished the reef at 51 mile catching 20 Gold Spotted Bass to 5 lbs and 1 Red Snapper 12 lbs.

We were fishing 275 ft deep. We had a bummpy ride out of Puerto Penasco with 2 to 4ft rollers in a confused sea. The ocean calmed down in the aftrenoon. I had 5 guys total. We could not find live bait and fished with squid and cut Sierra. There was some type of Jellyfish clinging to our lines every time we reeled in and it would sting our arms face and hands when it flew off the line. It was redish and stringy. The water temperature was 83 degrees.

The attached picture is Dave Lookingbill with the Snapper he caught on my boat. And a picture of the back of El Gato Blanco.
