CHARTER DREAMS FISHING REPORT FOR AT EL BANCO

Sept. 10, 2004, Kim Moore, Charter Dreams, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Fishing:

Puerto Vallarta fishing continues to HOT, HOT, HOT in PV! Conditions are excellent with water temps from 86 degrees and blue water just outside the bay. We primarily fished El Banco this week. Big yellowfin tuna were ALL over most days--many boats brought in tuna in the 150 to 300 lb. range. Tuna were being caught with live bonitas. "Making bait" was quite a challenge this week at Puerto Vallarta.

Several days we had to go to Corbetena in order to "make bait" BEFORE heading out to the El Banco. Those who had live bait did well, those who didn't struggled. Puerto Vallarta fishing seas were relatively calm most of the week with the exception of Monday. We saw several marlin but didn't hear of any being hooked up this week. There were also lots of wahoo at El Banco hitting live bonita. Corbetena was fairly slow early in the week and then the sailfish and dorado were on the color change. About 3 miles off, the Tres Marietas there were trash lines that produced a lot of dorados and nice sailfish.

I got a call about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday and Merle Erickson and Doug Hanna aboard "Anticipation" landed their 306-pound, taped, yellowfin tuna. That was the mission!
