MIXED FALL SEASON FISHING FOR TUNA AND BILLFISH OFF PUNTA CONCEPCION

Oct. 20, 2005, Ron Grant, Mulege, Mexico Fishing Report:

Mulege weather nice was in mid 80s during the day and cooling to low 70s at night. Water temperatures are cooling to the high 70s in most deep areas. Fishing at Mulege is just okay, with Dorado still in area but widespread. Most Mulege fishing boats are coming in with 2 to 6 fish in mixed sizes.

Boats are also scoring on some yellowfin tuna in deeper water if you can find the porpoise working over them. The fishing area of choice for Mulege boats is about 50 degrees from the light house which will put you about 8 miles out from Punta Concepcion. Boats heading north toward Isla San Marcos are also scoring. There are still billfish in area.

The runway at the Hotel Serenidad is in good condition following the rains a couple weeks ago.
