LOTS OF BARRACUDA CAUGHT AT THE ENTRADA

March 18, 2005, Gary Graham, Baja on the Fly, Magdalena Bay, Mexico Fishing Report:

Conventional fishermen were fishing at the Magdalena Bay entrada three days ago and got one good-sized halibut, a big grouper, yellowtail, and lots of barracuda.

Shark fishermen have run into lots of squid a couple of miles outside the Magdalena Bay entrance. There is also loads of squid inside the bay and lots of whales, but definitely not good fishing inside. Magdalena Bay fishing weather is absolutely beautiful, with very calm mornings and a slight wind after 12 noon. Inside the Magdalena Bay esteros fishing produced corbina. Magdalena Bay fishing water temperature were 69-75 degrees, and air temperatures were 62-71 degrees, with scattered clouds.
