La Paz Fishing Report

LAS ARENAS SIDE FISHING

July 30, 2006, Gerardo Hernandez, Tortuga Sportfishing, Tropical storm Emilia on the Las Arenas side.

We don't have much in the way of fishing to report because the tropical storm Emilia arrived at the beginning of the week, bringing rain, and anglers had to cancel their trips because of the bad weather. With the arrival of the storm, fishing in our La Paz area slowed greatly compared to the previous week. Our captains checking the northern areas from El Sargento to Las Cruces had no good results. The same was true for those who fished south around Ensenada de los Muertos and Punta Pescadero. They came back with one or two fish, small dorado.

The weather in our Las Arenas fishing area has been cloudy and cool at 90 degrees, and the water temperature has been about 86 degrees where we are fishing. We have good supplies of bait. We hope that next week the fishing will be good again as usual.
