PANGA MOTHERSHIP FISHES AT LOCAL ISLANDS

April 17-22, 2004, John Chow, Tony Reyes, La Paz Panga Mothership Fishing Trip Report:

In this trip we were fishing the major islands, like Santa Cruz, Catalina, San Diego, San Jose, Las Animas, and San Francisco. We caught more of the cabrilla with MirrOlures. It was harder to make live bait on this trip.

Water temperatures were from 70 to 74 degrees. We had neap tides this trip making the yellowtail bait slower. The wind blew a couple of days. We ended up at San Francisco Island where some big fish broke off the lines on the rocks. The best lures were 6XJr. in several colors, and MirrOlures in pink and purple. Jeff Douglas caught a 25-pound cabrilla.
