MOSQUITO FLEET SENDS 5 BOATS OUT FISHING

Dec. 30, 2004, Luis Lopez, Mosquito Fleet, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

We had five superpangas go out at La Paz this week, and tomorrow, two super pangas and a cruiser are going fishing.

We have been fishing mostly for sierra of 5 to 7 pounds, and today was pretty good for one La Paz charter fishing panga that caught a lot of them in less than 2 hours, fishing only with Rapalas, since the bait fishermen have not been wanting to get up early in the morning to service just one or two boats going fishing.

One La Paz panga went spear fishing at midweek and got two large pargos of 8 and 12 pounds, a 6-pound cabrilla, and a 20-pound yellowtail, all with the spear.

This week, La Paz weather was good, although some days were a little cloudy, with an air temperature of 24 degrees centigrade, and 12 to 14 degrees at night, and no wind, which has allowed us to take clients snorkeling and diving at Isla Espiritu Santo, in water temperatures of about 65 to 68 degrees, and 40 to 60 feet of visibility.
