A FEW BOATS WENT FISHING AT LAS ARENAS THIS WEEK

Dec. 5, 2004, Jonathan Roldan, Tail Hunter International, La Paz, Mexico Fishing Report:

Only a trickle of anglers this week, as we hit the lull between the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas. A bit cooler this week and we didn't have any anglers fishing on the La Paz side, but I heard there's still some dorado being caught near the island.

It's hard to gauge when there aren't that many boats out.

However, we put out a few boats at Las Arenas/Muertos this week. Again, hard to gauge the blue water species because the anglers didn't want to fish offshore, but wanted to concentrate on inshore species. However, they found what they were looking for using light tackle on cabrilla and sierra.

They lost quite a few sierra until they went to wire, but had a blast. Also, they lost some pargo as well that the skipper tells me were nice-sized fish that quickly went into the rocks.
