EAST CAPE SPORT FISHING GOOD FOR STRIPED MARLIN IN ALL DIRECTIONS

June 6, 2006, Eddie Dalmau, Van Wormer Resorts, East Cape, Baja California Sur, Mexico Sport Fishing:

East Cape striped marlin fishing is absolutely incredible right now. The fish are everywhere and feeding aggressively. East Cape charter fishing boats are hooked up in all directions. Multiple hookups per boat are common.

The striped marlin are attacking trolled lures and pitched live baits on the surface.

East Cape dorado and yellowfin tuna are plentiful. The dorado are nice-sized, with some fish in excess of 40 pounds starting to show. Good fishing success for dorado is being reported to the north and south.

Straight east are the primary tuna schools in the East Cape area right now. Many of the fish are 10 to 40 pound size.

Quite a few roosterfish, small sierra, and cabrilla are available inshore, but most East Cape sportfishing boats are heading offshore.
