BAJA FISHING TRIP AT LA BOCANA
WITH CAPT. JUANCHYS AGUILAR

Nov. 28, 2005, Joe Cameron, La Bocana, Baja California Sur, Mexico Fishing:

I and Jeff Cordeiro fished with Juanchys Aguilar three days Thanksgiving week and caught 30 yellowtail, two 30-40 pound grouper, 2 large calico bass, 5 barracuda and 3 black skipjack. We were fishing near Whale Rock every day. One afternoon, fishing in Laguna La Bocana, we caught 3 grouper to five pounds, 3 huge sculpin, and 15 spotted bay bass.

On Wednesday, Juanchys and I hooked 11 grouper and only landed one. We couldn't turn them with 50 and 60 pound line! I finally got one Friday on 100 pound gear. We could have caught a hundred yellows but they weren't our target fish.

Weather was good, with wind only Thursday afternoon and Friday. Juanchys is a great guy and he would love for more of us "gringos" to come fish with him!
