ROAD TRIP ACROSS BAJA CALIFORNIA
TO ABREOJOS ON THE PACIFIC COAST

Sept. 20, 2005, Syd Lindsay, Abreojos, Baja California Sur, Mexico:

Mexican Independence day took us over Baja California to Abreojos for a couple of nights. They are starting work on the road again. A man we talked to said they are only going to pave about 3 miles. Since the town is growing, the people want to use the budget money for this year for more water and power and let the road wait until next years budget.

I got ripped off on gas at San Ignacio on our trip. That station has been pretty fair until now. Same owners. They are getting ready for tourist season.

In Santa Rosalia on Baja's Cortez side, work has started again on the new gas station north of town. There is still a long way to go but the pumps are in and the sign is up but they still need to pave the ground.

It looks like the deal for San Lucas R.V. Park has fallen through. The want-a-be buyer yesterday and he said the Ejido is to hard to deal with. They are looking at another place on the south beach next to Dos Amigos Park, which is fine with me, so all my friends will have to put up with me for awhile longer.
