MORE ANGLERS VISITING SAN QUINTIN THIS WEEK

June 19, 2005, Pete Hillis, Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico:

Things are starting to pick up in the San Quintin fishing area. With the approach of summer, we are seeing an increase in the number of anglers coming down to San Quintin. This week we had 15 sportfishing boats out. Limits of rockcod and lingcod with a few yellowtail were caught. At midweek, a private boater brought in 10 yellowfin tuna, of 20 to 25 pounds. But the winds came up, keeping most San Quintin fishing boats from heading back out to the tuna. As of Sunday morning, winds were dying down. We will make another tuna run midweek.
