JUST A FEW CHARTER BOATS GOING OUT

June 5, 2005, Pete Hillis, Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico:

We had only a few boats fishing out of San Quintin this week. Nathan Smith with Shimano brought friends Wade Curtis and Dan Thorbur from Orange County and fished Friday and Saturday at Socorro for limits of calico and sandbass, catch and release, along with one nice yellowtail, and 2 nice lingcod. As of Sunday morning, they were headed to San Martin Island where we had a report of a large school of yellowtail. They fished with Captain Hector on the Paloma.

Winds came in Tuesday after the Memorial Day weekend but had settled by Friday morning. Air temperatures in the San Quintin fishing area have been in the mid-70's with overcast skies in the morning.
