San Quintin, Mexico:
Big Counts Of Red Rockcod And Lingcod Caught In Fishing At The 240 Spot

May 7, 2005, Sarai Garcia, Don Eddie's Landing, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico:

In the San Quintin sportfishing area, we have a moderate marine layer that turns into a light drizzle in the mornings and afternoons, but, no precipitation. The clouds dissipate around 10 a.m. and give way to sunny afternoons with temperatures ranging from the 60s to the 70s. Winds were moderate, but increasing towards the end of the day. Fishing water temperatures at San Quintin ranged from 58 to 61 degrees, and the water was murky and the waves in some instances reached the 8 foot level.

Jorge Cruz, Chuck Young, and John Beck, from San Gabriel Valley and South Bay, brought a group of anglers for a 4 day stay, going out fishing on the Ana and the Sofia, out of Don Eddie's Landing. Tomorrow they will go out fishing on the Yolanda, the Ana, the Sofia, and the City Slicker out of Don Eddie's and they will be going to the 240, 180, and the 6 spot, and some will venture to the Socorro area.

Jorge Cruz, Chuck Young, and John Beck wanted to try the island this day, and caught their share of barracuda, some sheephead, and cabrilla.

John Mayer and his wife Lilian, went to the 240, and reported catching huge amount of red rockcod and lingcod. They say they are going back tomorrow for another catch.
