FISHING WITH CAPT. HECTOR OF
PEDRO'S PANGAS' CHARTER BOAT ROMMY
March 14, 2005, Jim Marsh, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico sportfishing:
Rudy Camacho and Jim Marsh of Rancho Penasquitos drove to the Old Mill last Saturday, March 3, to fish in San Quintin. We spoke with Pete at Pedro's Pangas and lined up Hector to take us fishing out of San Quintin on the Rommy on Sunday.
We went south to Socorro and I used my blue-and-white irons and rainbow Crocodiles trying to land a white seabass. The fishing water was green and murky that day, and I could not get a bite. Rudy was fishing on the bottom and got 14 cabrilla. We were fishing about 1.5 miles out in 70-80 feet of water. Hector moved about 4-5 times in and out of the kelp.
At 10:30 am we returned to San Quintin bay to try fishing for Halibut but no luck. The road to the Old Mill had some slick puddles and I was glad to have 4 wheel drive. My 2002 4runner has never been so dirty.
