OUTING WITH CAPT. HECTOR OF PEDRO'S PANGAS

Feb. 20, 2005, Robert Everett, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico:

After a wet week down in Baja, Sunday the 20th turned out perfect for us. Fishing out of Pedro's Pangas with pangadero Capt. Hector of San Quintin we saw somewhat calm seas while going out, turning to a steady increasing westerly wind. We saw everything from whales to duck hunters whom seemed to be doing well there in San Quintin bay. We heard several shots and saw several birds fall while headed out to our fishing spot.

We fished about 3 hours until the wind turned us back, catching limits of calicos, sandbass, whitefish, and rockcod, with the odd sheephead and barracuda thrown in. I lost one white seabass at the top, and my wife Gladis got 2 hard pulls while pulling up smaller fish off the bottom. It was excellent fishing for the time spent.
