OUTING WITH CAPT. JAIME ON THE CHARTER BOAT MI NOVIA
Feb. 23, 2005, Steve Barstow, Sportsmen's Pub, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico fishing:
Jerry Spencer, his son Jerry Jr., and I just returned from a short fishing trip to San Quintin and Bahia de los Angeles. It rained from Paso Robles to San Quintin on Friday the 18th, and all night Friday night too!
On Saturday morning we woke up to clear skies, no wind and calm seas. We fished with Capt. Jaime on the Mi Novia. We headed south out of the mouth of San Quintin bay, down towards the Socorro area. As the fishing weather had been pretty nasty for the last few days around San Quintin, we didn't expect much fishing action. We were pleasantly surprised to catch several sandbass, calico bass, a couple of nice size whitefish, a good sized bonito, for my smoker, and some red rockcods. When we got back to San Quintin after fishing, we packed up and headed south to Bahia de los Angeles.
