REPORT FROM DON EDDIE'S LANDING

Jan. 1, 2004, Eddie Marquez, Don Eddie's Landing, San Quintin sportfishing, Baja California, Mexico:

James Park and Danny Park from Granada Hills fished at San Quintin on their own boat, a 21-foot Striper. The Parks wanted to catch a white seabass. Early the morning of Dec. 24, 2004, they left for the San Quintin fishing grounds headed to El Socorro. The fishing weather was partly cloudy and in the 70s, with the sea surface water temperature ranging from 60 to 61 degrees.

San Quintin ocean waters were calm. When they got to their spot, approximately 7 miles southeast of the point, they saw hundreds of birds covering a big area. Without loosing any time, they started to fish bonitos and barracudas, so many they started releasing them. Finally, the big strike came on a "white sea bass."

They hooked, a 49 pounder and a 53 pounder. Merry Christmas for the Parks. They left their boat at Don Eddie's Landing and headed home. They will be back to San Quintin after the New Year for another round of fishing.
