PEDRO'S PANGAS SENDS 20 BOATS OUT FOR YELLOWFIN TUNA

Oct. 3, 2003, Pete Hillis, Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico:

We had 20 San Quintin fishing boats out this week. Wind was blowing Saturday but Captain Hector reported 15 yellowfin tuna on the Romey and all other San Quintin boats with similar catches. As of Sunday a.m., the wind had completely stopped. Yellowfin tuna are between a 240 and 260 heading, 10 to 12 miles off the San Quintin point. Most fish were 10 to 15 lbs. with a few at 25 lbs. No report on white seabass or bottom fish. All boats were chasing tuna.
