SALMON CAUGHT BY PEDRO'S PANGAS BOAT

Aug. 1, 2004, Pete Hillis, Pedro's Pangas, San Quintin fishing, Baja California, Mexico:

This week we had a total of 25 boats go out.

Steve Bushlen from Lakewood, CA brought a group of 4 down to San Quintin and fished with Captain Hector on the Romey. He landed an unbelievable 8 lb silver salmon. This group brought in 13 yellowtail to 22 lb, limits of lings to 20 lb, and limits of reds.

Bud Wright from Long Beach, CA got together a San Quintin bus trip. He brought down 22 close friends and family for a long weekend stay. With that many people, they took all of our boats and fished with Captains Hector, Miguel, Sapo, David, Esteban, and Pato. Their catch included limits of sand bass with a few calico and white seabass on their first day fishing at Soccorro. Their 2nd day they fished yellowtail at San Quintin's San Martin with good results (18 to 20 lbs). The best results were with trolling rapalas in the morning and jigs and live bait in deeper water in the afternoons.

San Quintin weather in general has been beautiful with air temps being nice and warm (staying in the high 80's and low 90's) with light winds and water temps remaining pretty much the same (70 to 72 degrees). Unfortunately, still no yellowfin within the normal 20 mile range off the San Quintin point.
