DORADO CAUGHT ON FIRST-TIME BAJA TRIP TO SAN QUINTIN

July 25, 2004, Jesse Morales, San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico:

My wife and I had never been to Baja before. We spent 3 days, July 19th through the 21st in the peaceful, sleepy village of San Quintin at the Cielito Lindo Motel. There we charted Chino's boat on July 20th. We were hoping to catch some Albacore or Yellowtail, but Chino rewarded us with something much more special than that. I caught my first dorado ever, which weight in at 15lbs. Later, that afternoon I caught my second Dorado that weight in at 20lbs. I caught them using a Zuker Green and Yellow feathers, Daiwa 40 shv reel, Shakespeare Ugly Stick Tiger rod with 25lb line. I cannot express my excitement. This was my best fishing trip yet. We have plans of returning to Baja soon.
