SHRIMP FESTIVAL AND BAJA 1000 RACE COMING UP

Oct. 30, 2005, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Town Report:

At San Felipe, the temperature has plummeted to a wonderful 71 degrees here on the balcony and last night's low was 62 degrees, which was very nice.

Right now the humidity is about 50 percent, which feels very damp, but not as damp as it has been. Also the water temperature at San Felipe has taken a plunge to the high end 70's so things are definitely cooling off after the hottest August and September that many old-timers around here can remember.

This morning San Felipe bay is a dazzling high tide of steel gray with a slight chop that is creating a network of diamonds on the peaks. The sky is a little hazy. It's a great day for being lazy on the beach.

November 3rd-6th is the annual San Felipe Shrimp Festival, so preparations are being made for that, and of course the Baja 1000 is coming up on the weekend of the 17th, starting point in Ensenada.

The latest update on the adventures of Poppa Neutrino is that he is up near the Grand Canyon, heading down here with a colleague who is going to help him build another, bigger raft and learn the art of rafting as he goes along. For any one whose interested, there has been a short film made about Poppa Neutrino and his wife "Captain Betsy" entitled "Random Lunacy" which is an entrant into the Sun Dance Film Festival. Undoubtedly there will be info about that on their website, flyingneutrinos.com. Until next time, vaya con Dios from the book store by the bay.
