SIERRA, SMALL YELLOWTAIL, AND POMPANO
CAUGHT IN FISHING AT PUNTA BUFEO

Nov. 7, 2004, John Tillander, Punta Bufeo, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Fishing Report:

We went down to our place at Punta Bufeo last Saturday. The five-day forecast looked perfect and Sunday was just that. We caught Sierra (3-5 lbs), small yellowtail (5-10 lbs) and small Pompano. All were caught on 2" Crocodiles and Kastmasters. The color didn't seem to matter, and all were caught within a few hundred yards of the beach. Punta Bufeo water temp was 80, air temp highs were 75 and lows of 60.

The wind started blowing Sunday night and by Monday morning the waves were 6-8 feet.

Tuesday morning it was still blowing 40-50 m.p.h. and there was so much sand in the water that it was a yellowish brown from Punta Bufeo all the way out to Isle San Luis. We gave up and came home.
