TOWN CELEBRATES MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE WEEK

Sept. 12, 2004, Catalina Meders, Title Company Bookstore, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico:

Hola everyone from San Felipe...where it is 90F right now...heading for 99F (which was yesterdays high) last night and the night before it went down to 84F which felt pretty comfortable....and there has been some cloud cover in the late afternoons giving San Felipe at least the illusion of some coolness...The humidity is 38% today...but it feels much higher than that.... We had a wonderful summer traveling up North and stopping at every little yard sale and book stall we came to....we found (and brought back) over a thousand interesting books for the store.....And as always, it is fine to be home again by our favorite bay. Last night kicked off INDEPENDENCE WEEK here in Mexico.....dancing and music over at the baseball park...which was interrupted for about 15 minutes by a power out....The San Felipe festivities will get more and more hectic until the grand finale next Thursday when there will be the big parade...Viva Mexico! San Felipe bay is flat, blue, and sparkling this morning...and we are glad to be here....hasta luego y vaya con Dios from the book store by the bay.
