MOTHERSHIP JOSE ANDRES TRIP TO FISH AS FAR SOUTH AS ISLA PARTIDA

Aug. 4, 2004, Mike Alaniz, Jose Andres, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Panga Mothership Fishing:

The boat came back to San Felipe on Friday, July 30th. We fished on the Jose Andres with nine fishermen, a photographer and a helper. The farthest south we fished was La Partida. The captain told me farther south had high wind problems. I've lost fishing days in the past. Didn't blame him for making that call.

Second day, Diablo Dan came up with a monster 34-pound yellowtail. The totoaba was caught back side of Islas Encantadas (the farthest one west). It was caught and released by another panga. We caught 120 yellowtails. Marty Bautista was chartermaster.
