JOSE ANDRES RETURNS TO SAN FELIPE WITH 379 YELLOWTAIL

July 9, 2004, Tony Reyes, San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico Panga Mothership Fishing Report:

Tony Reyes of Tony Reyes Fishing Tours reported on a six-day Midriff Islands trip by the panga mothership Jose Andres, returning to San Felipe on July 9, 2004, with a catch of: 379 yellowtail to 25 pounds; 620 cabrilla to 21 pounds; 85 giant squid to 30 pounds; nine grouper, 20 to 30 pounds; 18 red snapper; 10 sheephead, eight released golden grouper; and 45 miscellaneous fish. Chartermaster for the trip was John Chow, and the boat fished at Partida, San Esteban, La Guarda, San Francisquito, and Alfonsina's. The best lures were MirrOlures, and Salas 6XJr. in blue-white, green-yellow, and chrome. Live bait was also used on the best cabrilla bite of the season so far.
