SPORTFISHING BOAT EL GRINGO RUNS INTO WINDY CONDITIONS

April 22, 2005, Phil DeBoard, El Gringo, San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico Fishing Report:

That wind made it tough for me in my 20-foot open boat, which is somewhat like a panga. It was a long, wet ride home to San Carlos. Even so, I saw several marlin as close as 5 miles from Doble Point on a 180, but couldn't get them interested. I only made it about 14 miles out before the wind blew me off the water, but I have no complaints. Can't win 'em all. I'll give it another shot tomorrow.
