GOOD YELLOWTAIL FISHING REPORTED AT ISLA SAN PEDRO NOLASCO

April 4, 2005, Craig Collins, San Carlos, Mexico Fishing Trip Report:

I only fished for a few hours at San Carlos, as I was doing boat work, but the reports for yellowtail were good from several captains. Ernesto Amador of the "Huapanguero" reported one group catching 18 yellowtail in one morning at Isla San Pedro Nolasco. The winds last week stirred up the fishing water at San Carlos, and temperatures were down to 57-61 degrees. I caught one yellowtail and missed one in the first two passes by Punta San Antonio, using wire line and a fire tiger Rapala. I also caught 12 small barracuda using the same rig, near Miramar. I just bought the boat in December and moved it to San Carlos last month. Last weekend was my second time out fishing on the boat, so I am just figuring out where to go for the fish. No name for her yet.
