YELLOWFIN TUNA, MIXED SPECIES, AND A NEW FISHING BOAT FOR MARLA'S FLEET

Feb. 10, 2007, Marla's Sportfishing, Danny Osuna, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico:

Mike Camino from San Jose California, had a nice catch of a 185 pound yellowfin tuna after his friend Eric Botkin landed a 90 pounder, aboard our charter fishing boat Marla II with me, Capt. Danny Osuna fishing at Roca Corbeteña in Puerto Vallarta waters.

Fishing water conditions off the Pacific coast of Mexico at Puerto Vallarta were nice, with a north breeze and small swells, making a perfect conditions for drift and kite fishing.

The water temperature was 78 degrees.

This was was really a good fishing week for the Marla's Sportfishing fleet again.

But my boat the Marla II only fished 2 days this week, because I went early in the week to Florida to buy a nice 32-foot Blackfin boat for our fleet.

The fishing turned really good for Capt. Alonso Osuna and Capt. Scott Osuna who scored with some nice 100 pound class yellowfin tunas, plus dorados and sailfish.

All the fish caught this week by Marla III and Arca de Noe were by slow trolling the kite and drift fishing, using as bait, the live caballitos.

The tunas are all over Roca Corbeteña crashing, chasing flying fish and some squid.

Also the inshore fishing at Puerto Vallarta went really good this week. There were a lot of roosterfish, jacks, and sierras.

Local Mexican fishermen had great inshore fishing this week.

Also there are nice dorados, sailfish, and few striped marlin run up about 5 to 15 nautical miles north of Punta de Mita.
