DORADO ACTION FOR FISHING LIMITS AT PUNTA MITA

May 30, 2006, Danny Osuna, Marla's Sportfishing, Fishing Reports for Puerto Vallarta:

Tom Coster from California caught a big bull dorado aboard the Marla III with Capt. Scott Osuna while fishing 26 miles northwest of Punta Mita in Puerto Vallarta waters. The water condition was calm seas, with a little breeze, and a fishing water temperature of 84 degrees.

The Marla III ran out to the FADs off Puerto Vallarta and found really good dorado action, where we caught our fish limits right away. After catching few medium sizes dorados, Tom Coster scored a bull dorado taking a live bait Caballito, using light fishing gear, a 16 Trinidad with 20-pound line.

Allin Millac from Canada caught a nice roosterfish on board the Arca de Noe while fishing at Puerto Vallarta with Capt. Alonso Osuna, fishing outside Punta de Mita in shallow water. The water condition was calm with afternoon breezes and a temperature of 82 degrees. While fishing inshore they also had a great time on big roosterfish, a lot of skipjack, needlefish, and jacks. Most of the fish were caught with live bait.

Our boat the Marla II is back in the water now and ready to chase the big boys.

Robert Myrann and Lloyd McMullen from California had a great time fishing off Puerto Vallarta at Roca Corbeteña, catching all types of species, mostly on live bait skippies and caballitos. We also saw a lot of tunas around Roca Corbeteña, but these fish were really not hungry enough to nail the skippies and caballitos. But the pargos, jacks, and rainbow runners were nailing live bait. The fishing water temperature at Roca Corbetena was 84 degrees.

Josh and Mike Outhis, and Laura Outhis from California fished on the Marla II with Capt. Danny at Roca Corbetena and found a really good pargo bite. There was a lot of bait, skipjacks, all over the rock and these pargos were nailing bait like crazy. We caught 4 pargo, and lost a lot more strikes. We saw tuna crashing all over but had no luck in getting them to bite. They didn't look too interested in our baits, but I have a feeling the big cows are going to be here.
