LOCAL FISHING BOATS FIND STEADY BITE OF TUNA OVER 100 POUNDS

Nov. 7, 2005, Danny Gomez, Dhamar Sportfishing, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Super Panga Fishing Report:

The super panga Dhamar had a pretty good sportfishing week a Puerto Vallarta, from the 30th of Oct. to the 2nd of Nov.

We had good anglers from Santa Cruz, Calif., Joe Sanderland and Massond. We got all the fish they came for. We started with 2 nice dorados around 45 pounds. After that we connected with one sailfish that put on a good show because we hooked this fish with 30 pound test.

We arrived at the rock and we got bait and were hit 15 minutes later by a good sized 158 pound yellowfin tuna. After that, fishing was pretty slow.

Fishing out of Puerto Vallarta the next day, we trolled the old fashioned way, belly bait from a skipjack, and we hit two big dorados. Later we released 3 sailfish.

We got closer to the rock and we picked up two baits. We got one tuna around 150 pounds. That day I forgot my scale, so the weight is estimated.

This week, we fished with Karl Bradfor and Kurt from Newport, Calif.

The first fishing day, we got 7 dorados and 2 tunas of 60 pounds each. The dodo were 30 and 50 pounds.

The second fishing day, was the most fun because the tunas were baiting good. We got four tunas on the caballitos, 60 pounds, one on 50 pound test that Karl fought for close to 2 hours, and he broke the Seeker. We managed to get the tuna to gaff range and boated his nice 170 pound yellowfin.
