FISHING BOAT YOLARAY REPORTS A 382-POUND YELLOWFIN TUNA

Oct. 14, 2005, Manny Ocaranza, Yolaray, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Giant 382-Pound Tuna Catch Report:

The tuna was caught by Todd Fraser from Santa Cruz, Calif., onboard the Yolaray with Capt. Manny Ocaranza in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We fished at Corbeteña rock. The yellowfin tuna was caught on a skipjack tuna after 30 minutes of fight, on 100 pound test line, with a 200 pound fluorocarbon leader.

We had five more tunas in the 220 pound range, all on skipjack, an excellent day. Weather conditions were the best, blue water, 85 degrees. The big tuna taped out 83 inches long by 63 inches of girth. The scale came out to 382 pounds certified.
