GOOD COUNTS OF SAILFISH AT FISHING SPOT LA CANILLA

Oct. 31, 2004, Juan Pablo Moll, Mr. Marlin, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Fishing Report:

This week the fishing at Puerto Vallarta started really good especially at Corbetena and El Banco, with everyone catching tuna, marlin and sailfish, but as the week passed the fishing slowed down a bit, with just a few boats catching fish. Just passed the Marietas Island is a place called La Canilla, and around that area we were catching lots of sailfish, with 8 to 10 strikes a day. The reason is because there were lots of mini skipjacks around and that was what they were feeding on. Also, on the south side of the bay, there are still dorado and sailfish, all the way from Yelapa down to the lighthouse, also called Cabo Corrientes. The Puerto Vallarta water temperature is in the mid-80s, and the seas are nice and flat, with a little bit of wind from the north.
