FEW BOATS FISHING UNDER THE FULL MOON

Oct. 1, 2004, Kim Moore, Charter Dreams, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Fishing:

Full moon and clear skies over Puerto Vallarta this week gave the fish the opportunity to feed all night it seems. Puerto Vallarta fishing seems to have slowed slightly, but it is hard to tell. With tourism slow this time of year not as many boats go out which is the probably the major factor in the decline in the catches.

We did have 2, 200 lb. yellowfin tuna reported this week, a 350 lb. marlin and many 40-80 lb. yellow fin tuna. The action has been about the same at both El Banco and Corbetena. Puerto Vallarta water temp is 87 degrees inside the bay and 86 degrees outside the bay. Seas have been calm. We are still getting frequent afternoon showers and some heavy evening rains but even the rains are starting to slow. Puerto Vallarta days have been sunny and clear with temperatures around 87 degrees (of course with the high humidity it feels much warmer).
