MR. MARLIN FINDS BLUE FISHING WATER JUST OUTSIDE ISLAS MARIETAS

Sept. 25, 2004, Juan Pablo Moll, Mr Marlin, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Fishing:

This week the fishing at Puerto Vallarta has been great, with lots of big fish out there to catch, Yellowfin Tuna, Black and Blue Marlin at the Corbetena and the Banco there's also Sailfish and Dorados outside the bay at the Morro rock, and plenty of jacks in the bay. The water turns blue once you get out of the bay passing the marietas island. Puerto Vallarta water temp. has been in the higher 80s, weather conditions have been great, a little bit of rain in the afternoon but just to cool down the night. Total fish caught this week: Yellowfin Tunas: 18 150-300 lb.; Black Marlin: 6 250-650 lb.; Blue Marlin 4 300-500 lb; Sailfish: 25 50-100 lb.; Dorado: 25 30-50 lb.; Wahoo: 10 30-50 lb.
