BOATS LAND OFFSHORE YELLOWFIN TUNA AVERAGING ABOUT 100 POUNDS

July 24, 2004, Kim Moore, Charter Dreams, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Fishing Report:

PV Fishing continues to be hot! The warm waters bring the big boys in. We had several nice blue marlin come in from El Banco this week; they were all around 500 lbs. The big tuna are all over out there but “picky” about what they are eating -- it is a little frustrating to see them all over but only catch a couple. Most of the yellowfin tuna are around 100 lbs. with a few 200 + lbers mixed in.

Corbetena has been a little slower than usual for this time of year; we are catching mostly 50 lb. yellow fin and sailfish here.

Around the Tres Marietas and El Moro there are still lots of sailfish, some small tuna, a wahoo here and there and even some roosterfish.
Cabo Corrientes has produced several sailfish and small tuna this week as well.

Puerto Vallarta's waters have been VERY calm which makes for smooth cruising! Water temperature still 87 – 89 degrees. Days have been mostly sunny with afternoon and evening showers.
