BLACK MARLIN AT 650 POUNDS REPORTED CAUGHT AT EL BANCO

July 16, 2004, Kim Moore, Charter Dreams, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Fishing Report:

Big marlin and big yellow fin tuna are coming in from El Banco! One nice black marlin about 650 lbs. on Wed. There have been several yellow fin tuna in the 200 – 275 range come in. There have been lots of strikes so the action is heating up. “Making bait” has been a little tough. We have been having to gig them up off the bottom. Early in the week one boat reported catching 3 nice sailfish and 2 yellowfin tuna (50lbs). There has been action at El Faro on the south end of the bay as well. Two marlin picked up at El Faro and several 40 lb. red snapper. Puerto Vallarta seas have been pretty calm except for a few scattered thunderstorms. We have had overcast skies and scattered showers throughout the day almost everyday this week.
