KAYAK FISHING ANGLERS ENJOY GOOD WEATHER AND SEA CONDITIONS

Jan. 15, 2006, Sam Saenz, Puerto Santo Tomas Resort, Mexico Sportfishing Report:

All week from Monday through Saturday Puerto Santo Tomas had good fishing weather and surf conditions. We had a group of kayakers come over, Toby, Avery, Mark, and others. They had a good time kayak fishing on Saturday. They caught a variety of bottom fish, but not to expectations, primarily due to ocean conditions affected by this weekend storm.

On Sunday, we had a beautiful sunny day, but the ocean was turbulent and the winds came up. Hardly anyone went fishing on Sunday. Toby and Avery came in early on Thursday, and went out fishing on a panga on Friday, ahead of the storm's effects. They did excellently, catching full limits of rockcod, large calico bass, and whitefish. The best bite was in front of La Bocana.
