ROUGH SEAS MOVE INTO LOCAL FISHING WATERS AT END OF WEEK

Oct. 9, 2005, Sam Saenz, Puerto Santo Tomas Resort, Puerto Santo Tomas, Mexico Fishing Report:

All week long, until Friday, the ocean at Puerto Santo Tomas was standing still. The local commercial fishing pangas were bringing in three or four sacks full per day. However, on Friday, the ocean environment changed. Huge swells and rough surf came in, affecting the good bottom fishing bite.

The surface fishing bite continues to be slow. The bottom bite has been super up until Saturday morning. However, Robert Beckner, a member of a local fishing club from the San Diego area, went out on a panga past the San Jose point, and came back loaded with full limits of bottom fish.
