ARIES FLEET SENDS OUT 12 CHARTER FISHING BOATS FOR THE WEEK

Oct. 7, 2005, Larry Edwards, Cortez Yacht Charters, Mazatlan, Mexico Fishing Report:

Mazatlan fishing action has slowed up a bit, and is probably due to the unstable weather conditions throughout the area. Also, a lack of anglers has hampered the efforts of the fleet to stay on the fish. Overall counts for 12 boat fished days produced 7 sailfish, 14 dorado and 1 yellowfin tuna.

Mazatlan weather had 71 degree nights, 90 daytime highs, mostly cloudy, and off and on thundershowers, moderate to rough seas, 1 port closure day, and water temperatures stable at 86 degrees. Most of the billfish came from southwest of the Marina El Cid, 22-25 miles, but the fish have scattered out in the rougher waters.
